Every parents nightmare!
I feel devastated for the parents of Connor, Callum and Jack smith who are all suffering from ALD, which is a brain disorder. Most sufferers do not reach adulthood. No parent should have to bury a child. There are treatments that can prolong life but sadly there is not a cure. One treatment is a bone marrow transplant however Callum's form of the illness is to far along. There is still hope for the other two boys. All three boys need a miracle to survive. I think we should all pray.

Its odd I just uploaded a piece i wrote on wednesday...also about death...I read the story u are talking about in the Guardian magazine a week or so ago, a cut down version is on line at(http://www.guardian.co.uk/genes/article/0,,1781811,00.html) and the condition was the basis of the film Lorenzo's Oil, a very sad film but good for bringing the condition to the public like this article and others like it have.

i no i read it the other week but it was also in the paper yesterday and i am really moved by the story
its very upsetting to know that there are children dieing around us. hopefully their lives can be prolonged for as much time as possible. ill pray for them keeley.
