The other day I was reading
nick blog, the post about Mothercare and it got me thinking hard i realized that the name is slightly sexist. This got me thinking about women only car insurance companies. such as dimond. Is it really fair to have these because if there were male drivers only insurance companies it would cause outrage. I was having this same conversation with someone who i will not name and they said that it is fair because women are better drivers and we are less likely to crash. However i supose that is just opinion as that person was a woman.
So i went on google since i had nothing better to do and typed in: who are better drivers men or women. Most websites said that men were more skilled then women at driving as they know their cars better than women. However websites were also saying that men were more likely to be killed in car accidents than women were. A counter argument to this is that there are more male drivers on the roads than women so more men are going to be killed in road accidents.
I didn't get a clear answer to my question. However i think that this quote will sum up why i asked the question in the first place.
"I'm 19 and when getting an insurance quote for a car I found it was nearly half the price by just changing my name from Mr to Miss. I think this is pathetic. Why is our country turning like this, we are always being told not to be sexist. Is this not giving out the wrong impression?"
As-level results are in!!!
Today i went to pick up my exam results. I worked out that the only subject i could get a U in was History since the other subjecs i had already took an exam or done a piece of course work. I honestly thought i would get a U in history as the exams were hard. I Opened up the letter and read Drama:D English:C Media:C Crit Thinking:D and History:E. Even though i got an E in History i was so pleased and slighty peed off snice out of the three history exams i took i got a C, D and U. However i am still very pleased with all my results and i hope they turn into decent A-levels.
I need A break LOL.
Summer club at the paradise zone youth centre finished Friday however we are still going strong this week we went rowing. Myself, Craig, Josh and Sarah all rowing together in one boat. I hear you say that doesn't seem hard however, I will let you know that it is. With three people rowing at the same time and one person rowing at a different pace it didn't seem to work, as we kept getting our blades caught up. That person (not naming any names) has now realized how to get in time with the rest of us and hopefully we will all be in time tomorrow and will not come last in the races that take part tomorrow. My hands are bruised and cut up and I am aching all over. However summer club is still not over most of next week is booked and parts of the week after are booked as well. Then my summer can really start. LOL. By that time there will only be 2 weeks before I go back to collage. I am planning on spending them relaxing. So I am going to turn my phone off. LOL
Skiing
Yesterday we went skiing at the snowdom which is located near Birmingham. It was an indoor ski slope. Even though we didn't do much and spent most of day traveling i had a great time plus i can now say i have been skiing. Snice Gordon kept telling me i should go. But now he tells me i need to go out side. Lol. It was great that Gordon was there with us it seemed the best way to say goodbye. (Even though its not a goodbye forever just for now. LOL)I did manage to fall over, however it wasnt even on the snow it was as i was coming off,I hit my back on the wood. Now it is killing me. Lol
Why won't my computer work!!
I got home last night and thought i better blog. I turned my computer on then it crashed, so i rebooted it and it crashed again. Today it won't even turn on. Why does my computer always do this. For those of you who are wondering how i am blogging if my computer is not working, I am on my laptop which is very slow. Why do we need technology wouldn't it be more simple if we didn't use technology like armish people. But then i wouldn't be able to blog.
